Clonmel Credit Union Division Two
Clonmel Celtic B 3
Cashel Town B 3
Celtic B marched on with a dominant home win against a strong CashelTown side.
The opening 20 minutes were evenly matched and strongly contested in the centre of the park with Celtic edging the battle. Celtic got the breakthrough they deserved on 31 minutes when the electric Seany Hawkins breezed past a Cashel defender and squared to Deano McLoughlin who made no mistake from close range.

Clonmel Celtic beat Cashel Town in the Clonmel Credit Union League Division 2
The second half started much the same with the midfield being dominated by Simon Ahearne, Shane Mullen and Kyle Kennedy who delivered a captain’s performance. On 55 minutes a dangerous Cashel counter attack was pulled to the back post but was brilliantly covered by Damon Gregory. This seemed to spark Celtic to life again and Shane Mullens’ spinning shot at the edge of the box destined for the top corner was somehow saved by the Cashel keeper.
From the resultant corner Deano McLoughlin got his second goal when his corner evaded everyone and ended up in the top corner. On 75 minutes the very impressive Luke O’Donnell broke down the right wing, beating two players and crossing brilliantly to that man again Deano McLoughlin to head home his hat trick. Alex Ryan and Kevin Dempsey marshalled the defence brilliantly throughout to keep their 3rd clean sheet in the league this season as a pairing and also special mention to Simon O’Donnell at left full and Gavin Sheehan who was solid in the goal.
