Slow and Children at Play Signs to be erected at Springfields Housing Estate this year

Published 11 months ago 24th September 2021 by Jamie O’Flaherty

District Engineer Eoin Powell says it is possible to intall the Slow and Children-at- Play signs at Springfields Housing Estate this year.

Cllr Pat English had asked for the signs to be installed as well as speed ramps at this months meeting of Clonmel Borough District.

In relation to the speed ramps, Mr Powell said he had inspected the estate and has determined that it is possible to install a set of speed ramps/cushions in the vicinity of houses 18 and 19 as requested.

However, he reminded Cllr English that a policy is in place that must be followed in relation to the installation of speed ramps/

cushions within existing estates and he must now follow that procedure before any speed calming measures can be put in place. “Subsequently, if all is in order these ramps/ cushions can then be put in for consideration on the list of Development Improvement Works for 2022,” stated Mr Powell.
