Mattress Mick comes to Clonmel

Published 2 years ago 24th September 2021 by Editor

LEGENDARY Mattress Salesman Mattress Mick has chosen Clonmel for his latest store, which is set to open at 1 Unit 2C in Ard Gaoithe Business Park, on the Cashel Road on Friday, October 1. The shaggy haired celebrity - real name Michael Flynn - reinvented himself after the recession of the late 00s and his wacky style of selling mattresses, with crazy videos, songs and media appearances has made him a household name. However, he told The Premier this week that despite his ‘crazy carry on’, he’s “dead serious about mattresses”.

“Life is too short to not have fun, but it’s also too short to not have a quality mattress,” Mick said. “I’ve been saying it for years – the two most important things to invest your money in are your shoes and a mattress because if you’re not in one, you’re in the other!”

Mick says that too many people “barely think” about their decision to buy a mattress and once they do, they tend to sleep on the same one for far too long – regardless of the consequences.

“There are so many problems associated with having a bad mattress, from broken sleep to back problems and even snoring,” Mick said. “There are many different types of mattresses out there, from different types of firmness to

memory foam etc, and investing in the proper one is genuinely one of the best decisions you can make for your body.”

Speaking about why he chose to open his latest store in Clonmel, Mick says that he’s “always loved the town”.
“When I decided to branch out of Dublin, I made a short list of towns and cities that I wanted to open in, and Clonmel was right at the top of that list,” he said.

“I had to wait for the right premises to come along but as soon as it did, I was on it like a car bonnet as they say! I love Clonmel, and I’ve always believed that it’s a little sleeping giant. The people are so friendly and although its taken some knocks in the last few years, I know it’s ready for a mighty comeback – and I can’t wait to have a ringside seat for that!”

Mick says that he’ll be having an official opening in his Clonmel store in the coming weeks with celebrity guests, giveaways and a big sale, but until then, he invites everyone to come down and say hello and pick a mattress that will change their life, as soon as the store opens on October 1.
