Family and Parent Support Classes at The Three Drives

Published 2 years ago 24th September 2021 by Caitriona Kenny

The Three Drives Family Resource Centre is facilitating many courses for the public to attend. The centre offers many supports for families and parents.

“Here at the Three Drives FRC we facilitate a ‘Family Support One-Stop-Shop for the community. Our family support worker will listen to you and help you decide the best options for your family needs, no matter what the situation,” explained Marian Clarke, Community and Family Support Worker,

“We have one-to-one parent support available, and a Parents Plus Children’s Programme. This course runs once a year and is for parents of 6- to 11-year-olds, looking to a more democratic form of parenting. It starts in October 2021 and parents who have done this course find that communication and confidence in parenting improves, leading to happier family life.”

We also advocate and facilitate, ‘Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) support. Increasingly, families are finding that children start to use physical violence or threats to get their own way. NVR helps parents deal with these situations calmly, and to grow in confidence dealing with the stress of child-to-adult violence,” added Marian.

To register for a course or to arrange an appointment, contact: Marian Clarke, Community and Family Support Worker on telephone 062-80831 or Email: mcna3220@

gmail.com. All family situations treated sensitively.
