Vee Rovers F.C
Schoolsboys; Shanbally United were at home to Clonmel Celtic on Monday. In an exciting game where both sides showed some excellent skills, a hat-trick by Conor English saw the home side prevail on a scoreline of 3-2.
The Juniors were away to Killenaule Rovers on Sunday in the first round of the Munster Junior Cup. Vee dominated the early exchanges and with a bit of luck might have scored a couple of times. Killenaule did at times trouble the visiting defence but it was Vee Rovers who broke the deadlock on 37 minutes when an excellent cross from Zack Keating was finished to the net by Anthony Crotty. Vee were short a number of regulars and were forced into some halftime substitutions but everybody worked hard to preserve our grip on the game and we were unlucky not to add to our tally. Overall a pleasing performance that gets us into the next round. An interesting aside to the game was that Vee used three different keepers during the course of the game, for various reasons and they managed to keep a clean sheet.
