The late Michael Fogarty
It was with huge sadness we learned of the passing of a true gentleman Michael Fogarty, Mantlehill Golden in our parish this
weekend.
Michael was a family man first and foremost and was also hugely involved in various committees in our parish over the years.
From Drama, where he excelled on stage with Golden Drama group and Gaa Scor group, Gaa where he played senior hurling for our club and was also club treasurer, and pro, golf which he enjoyed immensely in later years with Cahir Golf club, Fine Gael where he was present chairman of the local branch, Macra Na Feirme, & ICMSA, where he was an active member, farming the land he loved in Mantlehill, and of course his job as an AI technician which had Michael travel far and wide and forge friendships which lasted all through his life.
An excellent Actor, a parish sportsman, a community man through and through, a Golden correspondent for the Nationalist & Tipperary star for many years and a great friend to so many people.
It’s absolutely right to say we won’t see the likes of Michael again.
Our sincerest condolences to his wife Sheila, son’s Michael & Gerald, daughters Caroline, Mairead, AnneMarie and Paula and the extended Fogarty family.
Ar dheis De go raibh a anaim deilish.
