Junior A Football

Published 11 months ago 11th September 2021 by Editor

On Saturday last our Junior A Footballers took on Ballylooby in our 3rd game of the Championship. After victory in our first 2 games, a win here tonight would put us into a South Semi Final. 2 goals in the first half gave us a 5 point lead at half time, 2-5 to 0-6. The 2nd half was a tight affair with both teams unable to convert chances into scores and in the end we ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-8 to 8 points. The team on the night was: Marcus O Halloran, Colm Dunne, Patrick Moroney, Nicky Kearney, Barry O Dwyer, Ciaran Mockler, Paraic O Brien, Keith Morrissey, Conor Duggan, Aidan Fitzgerald, Aidan Buckley, Michael Boland, Matt McCormack, Eoin Ryan, Ryan Crannitch, Jamie Broderick, Cian Crannitch, Sean Ryan, Cathal Foley, James Fitzgerald, Cameron Moynihan. The South Semi Final will be played in the next few weeks.

Our Junior A Hurlers play Newcastle this Saturday in Ned Hall Park Clonmel at 6:30.

Congrats to Máire O’ Shaughnessy, midfield for Meath Ladies Footballer’s, on their All Ireland victory last Sunday. Máire is a daughter of Mary Ryan formerly of Curraheen who was a member of the
Meath backroom team.
