In first Place Brian Waters(8) with 30Pts, Closely followed by Martin Hanton(12) with 29Pts
Gross Prize was Adrian Johnson 23Pts, 3rd Place Andrew Gartlan(9) 29Pts.
Lead Qualifier Sean Grant with 55Pts.
The Bulmers Summer Series is in the last stages of qualifying, Anyone with 38Pts might want to have another go to get what I think the magic Number to be 39Pts.
This week’s winner is John Hughes(12) Cahir Park with a stunning 44 Pts.
This week will see the start of the 15 Hole 54321 CV Financial Ltd. kindly sponsored by Ian Cooke. Again very generous prizes on offer.
Next Friday we are running a 3 man Open Champagne Scramble and monster raffle Sponsored by Tesco Clonmel to help get the Junior Cup Team on the way to an “All Ireland Final”. This Day is kindly Sponsored by Tesco, Vision ID, JP Wynn, Woodlock Scaffolding and Friends of Toddy. If you can muster up a team of Gomeys for Friday it should be a good day and a great way of supporting the Team if you can’t make it to the finals in limerick GC in two weeks time.
The Club Professional Dave Barry and his able assistant Jack have their first of what I hope to be many “Professional Prizes” in the years to come. They are two great guys and are a real addition to the club. Best of luck David and Jack. Balls in the air at 6am Sunday the 12th of September.
This Week’s Main event Mr Ned Brophy’s Vice Captains Prize (POY). It is the only competition in the fixtures calendar where the Competitors have to Qualify into a 12 Hole playoff against 15 of their peers. Then go home and grapple with the thoughts of what the next 12 Holes will bring. Will it be me for once, will I get a favorable bounce? Is it going to be my day. Well after a night of tossing and turning and the best man to hold his nerve was Nigel Foran(14) shooting the lights out with a Magnificent 63 followed it up with 44 total of 107 strokes. Well done Nigel, great shooting. Second and third place were the two “Young Guns” Liam Flynn(16) & Billy Acheson(19) with totals 109 strokes. Sean Hawkins(0) wins gross with a nice and neat 71 blows. Emmy Pyke(8) with 111 blows in fourth place. Keith Norris was lead Qualifier with 66 and Senior Prize goes to Tom O’Donnell Snr.
Well done Ned great weekend of golf.
