Cahir Town Centre Enhancements

These are truly exciting times in Cahir, with lots in the pipeline, which will be of huge benefit to all.

A consultation process has begun asto develop a Public Realm to enhance the town.
Planning and design of the realm is expected to be complete by December 2021 and the areas to be transformed, include The Square, Castle Street and Old Church Street. The enhancements are expected to totally transform the areas, providing huge benefits for business, citizens and visitors alike.

The plan is to use what is termed a Shared Spaces and Universal design for public areas. There will be a reduction of on street parking, by the provision of a new carpark, and an emphasis on pedestrians and cyclists, with a new rationalised traffic flow. Smart technologies will be utilised for lighting and street furniture and the provision of an open plan space for festivals, markets and community events.

The consultation process remains open until Friday 27th August at 5pm. All the information is available on the Tipperary County Council website, tipperarycoco.ie
